Modeling Java Futures

The future is now, or maybe it just happened and it's completed, maybe it hasn't happened yet? Oh, the suspense!

Every language has core components. If someone tells you to program in a language you've never seen before, you may ask a set of questions. “Is it static or dynamic?“, “How do I create numbers”, “How do I create strings”, “How do I create a list, set, and map”, “Is there any quasi-functional-programming support”, “Can I do asynchronous computation”. The answer to the asynchronous question in Java is Futures and Completable Futures. In this one-hour session, we will discuss a basic future, a Completeable Future, how to parameterize a future, and how to compose a completable future.
